Cobelty joins AENEAS, Association for European NanoElectronics Activities

Cobelty is delighted to announce that it has joined AENEAS, the Association for European NanoElectronics ActivitieS, as an associate member. AENEAS’ mission is to strengthen Europe’s technological leadership and sovereignty. This mission is based on collaboration and by forging strategic partnerships in areas such as 6G (6G-AI), quantum technologies (QuIC), photonics (Photonics21) and, more broadly, the entire semiconductor value chain (SEMI Europe), the AENEAS is committed to tackling challenges and promoting a sustainable and competitive Europe, particularly in the field of R&D.

It is difficult to address standardisation issues for 5G/6G, AI, cybersecurity and quantum technologies without also considering hardware and semiconductors. These technologies rely on hardware components for which standardisation and intellectual property also play a key role. Recent developments around essential patents related to DRAM technologies show that standards and patents are also a key issue at the very heart of hardware. Integrating this dimension is essential not only to understand the current technological and industrial dynamics, but also to project them into the future. Therefore, a holistic approach to R&D and standardisation is particularly important to consider in the context of the Chips Act 2.0.
